Meet Rob Evans
Rob Evans delivers a unique blend of financial services experience and personal real estate endeavours to inform, advise and counsel his clients in pursuit of the right mortgage.
Considered the veteran at Mortgage Alliance West, Rob purchased his first home at the age of 23 and has participated in the peaks and valleys of the financial and housing markets over the past 30 years.
Rob completed his business and commerce studies at the University of Toronto, but was seduced by the Rocky Mountains in the mid 1970’s during reading week (‘ski week’) and heard the voice “Go west young man”, so he did.
After a decade in Alberta, and a career and suitcase full of financial planning knowledge (investments, tax, and insurance), Rob and his new wife, Stella and her teenage children, ventured off to the West Coast and settled in Kitsilano.
Becoming a Mortgage Broker was easy for Rob. While pursuing the purchase of a rental property, a major bank declined his request for a mortgage. Rob knew the business plan was solid – downpayment, credit, income/employment history, purchase value, rental income – all components of the deal were strong. Fortunately, Rob’s realtor referred him to a Mortgage Broker. Within three weeks, he had his mortgage approved, bought the rental property and the business plan was a huge success.
Three months later, Rob became a Licenced Mortgage Broker.
Rob has been active in sports (skiing, hockey, football) his entire life and still plays competitive baseball. His recent Volunteer position as a Dedicated Driver during the 2010 Winter Olympics is indicative of Rob’s interest in athletics and his community.
And don’t let the grey hair fool you. Rob’s drive and enjoyment of helping his clients realize their dreams will satisfy him for a few more decades.
